BRAVO
LINGUISTA

|
Redbak
has already established himself as a solid
battle MC competing in many of the major competitions
around Sydney, and has also shown his flexible
freestyle talents at numerous open mics and
cyphers.
Having first caught people's attention on
the Eastern Bloc's 'Freedom or Death' LP (2004),
and making a mark through various collaborations
on underground mixtapes and albums, he developed
a reputation for entertaining and energetic
showmanship through countless live performances
alongside some of Sydney's most respected
and established acts. A creative artist who
enjoys a challenge, Redbak decided to go against
the grain and develop a full length album
dedicated to two important parts of his life-
Hip Hop and his Latin heritage. Part homage
to his parent's homeland, Redbak's new album,
under the moniker of Bravo Linguista, is an
exciting journey showcasing his versatility
and passion for music.
Uniquely original and entertaining, the album
highlights the quality and experience of Redbak's
work and manages to uplift the standard of
Latin Hip Hop in Australia, while competing
with the best of Spanish speaking rap emanating
from the US, Spain and Latin America, having
received a great deal of response both overseas
and locally.
And you don't even need to speak the language
to enjoy it, with slamming beats by The Defiant
and tight turntable trickery from the likes
of DJ's DreadJuan, Subway and Nino Brown,
added with Redbak's invigorating flow and
smooth delivery, this independant release
is the first of many projects to be realised
in the near future..

In
Depth with Redbak...
Redbak
(also known as Bravo Linguista) is a rap artist
from Fairfield, Sydney, who has just released
his debut album independently, and mostly
in Spanish.
This Album is now is available in stores throughout
Sydney, with other states soon to follow.
The album features DJ's DreadJuan, Subway
and Nino Brown, with The Defiant in charge
of the production.
Growing up in a family very passionate about
music, his father being a Spanish folklore
artist, and his brother a music fanatic, Redbak
was influenced by a vast range of genres and
forms of expression, and was exposed to many
different philosophies and beliefs about music
and life itself. From an early age he was
attracted to the HIP HOP culture and would
listen to rap music constantly, so it was
no surprise that he began writing his own
material. Many years after working on the
fundamentals in rapping alongside Defiant,
he started to make a name for himself by competing
in MC battles, as well as freestyling at open
mics, gaining valuable experience and an insight
into the local scene.
He made his first guest appearance on Eastern
Bloc's 'Freedom or Death' LP (2004), and has
had numerous collaborations on mixtapes and
albums since then. In late 2004 he decided
to write a track in Spanish and discovered
a natural transition from one language to
the other. This is when Bravo Linguista was
born. He continued writing and developing
his own unique style and now has finalised
what has been in the making for a long time.
Throughout the years Redbak has performed
at various Hip Hop events around Sydney, as
well as Community youth festivals, special
functions and charity fundraisers. He is continuing
to work on future projects and collaborations
with other artists.
