”Carlitos Orchestra”11 piece Latin Band is directed by Colombian composer Carlos Naranjo. His background and influences have taken this band through different styles of music: Salsa dura, Cumbia, Bambuco, Jazz, Bosanova, Latin Jazz, Descarga... and more.
Under the name of Sofrito this Orchestra has performed at many a great venues and events around Sydney including many corporate clients, The Darling Harbour Latino Fiesta 2005 + 2006, The Basement, The Metro Theatre, The Privilege Bar and The Seymour Centre amongst others.
Originally performing under the name "Sofrito", this year the band has undergone a name change to Carlito's Orchestra.
With the percussion section now under the direction of Marcelo Malovini, one of Australia's leading Latin percussionists who has formerly worked with some of the best Latin acts in Australia as well as having studied with some of the most influential and internationally acclaimed percussionists, this percussion section combined with blistering horn lines, sexy vocal melodies and sultry piano and bass Montuno's

”Carlitos Orchestra” composes its own original material but also plays a handful of well known classic favourite Salsa and Cuban songs, revamped into the bands original sound, comparable to the Salsa sounds sweeping the dance floors of New York City, Miami Beach, Colombia and Havana Cuba.

*Dominic Kirk - drumkit / timbales (prodigy afro cuban drummer aged only 14!!! )
