Simply
Charly…That’s how his fans nicked named
Uruguayan singer Carlos Sosa whom since 1999 forms
part of Group “Chocolate” becoming the
Lead Vocalist.
Charly
did not stop producing hits which added up in time,
his first hot being “Loreley” places
the group in the top national charts.
But
it was in 2000 when he recorded the track sensation
“Mayonesa” which takes him to the best
stages of the world and places him as a top selling
artist for many consecutive weeks not only in Latin
America but also in Europe and Asia; consolidating
not only his voice but also his image as this song
is recorded for MTV and the video clip is shown
world wide, ranking amongst the most voted and forming
part of the prestigious MTV Latino list.
Millions
of records sold, a booked out agenda, photo sessions,
interviews, TV presentations, etc… took it’s
toll as at the end of 2001 in the middle of a Chilean
tour he had enough and told his manager "I’ve
had enough!". He took a plane a returned home
together with his band mates. While his hit continued
to play in stereos around the world and ‘Mayonesa’
became a Mega Hit and it had been a while since
it wasn’t heard plus Uruguay had no Musical
record hits, that’s how ‘Chocolate’
experienced their biggest hurdle.
Together
with his band mates he forms the Group “Mayonesa”
in 2002 following the same musical line-up which
took him to success they achieved their first album
full of fun and danceable music which put them in
the top selling spots and a very strong presence
in Radio Stations around the globe with their new
hits “Agachadita” and “Chica de
TV” also performed by Charly achieving a Gold
and Platinum album in Latin America in just 10 days.
Their second album comes together with the hit “Nadando”
which becomes the summer hit of 2004 in Latin America
and gives the group great success in the 2005 European
tour.
After the successfully 2005 European Tour and in
a very friendly manner with his band mates he decides
to leave the group and make his biggest dream a
reality; to begin his Solo career.
He records his first single “Las manos arriba”
in two versions, one dance and the other Euro style.
And as accustomed, in his own unique style makes
this hit become the summer hit of 2006.
Together with Ariel ex vocalist of Rafaga he records
a duet track which became the theme opening song
for ‘Pasión de sábado’
(Saturday Passion), one of Argentina’s most
watched TV programs. He also participates in a 2006
calendar for the whole of Europe, together with
many well known Artists with all proceeds going
towards a Children Cancer Foundation.
Today, as a Solo Artist, Charly has recorded his
first Album titled “NATURAL” which aims
to be one of the best consolidating his attributes
as a professional Artist can be identified with
three words: Strength, Spirit and Heart.
With this entire repertoire and with what’s
to come, Charly will be around for a while…And
don’t forget…The story continues…
